Stacked spheres of travertine and turned wood sit above a small glass globe, strung on a single slim pendant only 4.3 inches wide and 9.1 inches tall. Travertine is a porous limestone, so no two fixtures carry the same pitting or the same run of color through the stone.

At this width the pendant is not a room light. It is a point source, at its best hung in a run of two or three over an island or a long table, or alone above a side table where the narrow profile keeps a sightline open. The glass globe holds a single G9 lamp up to 40 watts, and fitting a dimmable bulb takes the output down to a low glow without losing the warmth the stone gives back.

The cord adjusts to a 66.9 inch drop, which covers sloped and double height ceilings as well as standard ones, and the fixture hardwires to a ceiling box using the mounting kit supplied. Two finishes are offered for the turned wood elements, Walnut and Natural Wood, both against the same pale stone. The whole fixture weighs 6.6 pounds. No bulb is included.

The stone is never the same twice

Travertine is a porous limestone, so the pitting and the run of color through each sphere are particular to that fixture. No two installations look alike.

Yes. The middle sphere is genuine travertine and the sphere above it is turned wood. The pits and the color banding in the photographs are the stone itself, not a print.
No. At 4.3 inches wide it is a point source, at its best in a run of two or three over an island or a long table, or alone above a side table.
Yes, with a dimmable G9 lamp on a compatible dimmer. The fixture takes one G9 bulb up to 40 watts and none is supplied.

Pendants live or die on drop height. Too high and the light scatters, too low and it blocks the sightline across the room.

  • Over a kitchen islandBottom of the shade 30 to 36 inches above the countertop.

  • Hanging two or threeSpace them 24 to 30 inches apart and keep about 6 inches in from each end of the island.
