Carved natural alabaster flowers sit on a brass arm, and the stone is what makes the fixture behave differently from a glass one. Alabaster diffuses light slowly and warmly, filling the shade rather than transmitting through it, which is the difference between a lit room and a calm one. Switched off it still works, reading as a small carved object on the wall through the day.

Each flower is cut from genuine stone, so veining and translucency vary from piece to piece and from the photography. That variation is alabaster behaving as alabaster, not a defect, and it is worth knowing before the parcel is opened. The brass arm is offered in two finishes and is made to a weight that feels solid in the hand, the metal warm enough to set off the stone rather than compete with it.

Scale is modest: 5.1 inches across and 12.2 inches high, projecting 7.5 inches from the wall, which clears circulation in a standard corridor. It suits a bedroom, a hallway, a bathroom or a dining room where a softer and more natural light is wanted, and pairs well flanking a mirror at 28 to 40 inches apart. It takes one E12 candelabra bulb to a maximum of 15 watts, sold separately, with a warm 2700K to 3000K LED suggested. Installation is hardwired and indoor only at IP20, with a licensed electrician recommended.

In a dry part of one, yes. It is rated IP20 for indoor use only, so it must stay clear of shower zones and anywhere exposed to moisture.
One E12 candelabra bulb to a maximum of 15 watts, sold separately. A warm 2700K to 3000K LED suits the stone best.
Close, but the stone will differ. Each flower is cut from natural alabaster, so veining and translucency are unique to the piece and vary from the photography.

Sconces are the easiest fixture to hang badly. Height is set by what they sit next to, not by the wall.

  • General wall heightCentre of the fixture 60 to 66 inches from the finished floor.
  • Beside a bedCentre 30 to 36 inches above the top of the mattress, so the light falls on the page and not in your eyes.
  • Flanking a mirrorMount as a pair, 28 to 40 inches apart, centred at about eye level.

  • Along a hallwayEvery 8 to 10 feet, and measure the projection against the walkway before mounting in a narrow corridor.
