Valverde opens like a flower caught at its best moment. Six petals gather around a low profile body, so the fixture stays tight to the ceiling while still reading as an object rather than as a light fitting. Unlit it holds its shape as a piece of sculpture; lit, the petals catch and soften the light before any of it reaches the room.

The flush profile is what makes it practical for the rooms it suits best. At 4.7 inches deep it clears the swing of a door and sits comfortably under the lower ceilings common in children's rooms and converted lofts, where a pendant would either crowd the space or hang at head height. The 19.7 inch diameter matches a room of roughly twenty feet of length plus width, which covers a ten by ten foot bedroom or nursery. Four body colors mean it can disappear into a white ceiling or provide the single note of color in an otherwise plain room.

An integrated LED of about 36 watts runs it, with TRIAC dimming so the same fitting shifts from full play light to a low bedtime level without swapping anything out. It hardwires flush to the ceiling and a licensed electrician is recommended. It must be fixed securely. This is not a toy: keep climbable furniture away from it and supervise young children in the room.

Add the length and width of the room in feet and match that to the diameter in inches. Roughly twenty combined feet, so a ten by ten foot bedroom or nursery.
No. The LED is integrated at about 36 watts, so there is no socket to match and no bulb to replace.
It must be fixed securely to the ceiling, and a licensed electrician is recommended for the hardwiring. It is not a toy. Keep climbable furniture away from it and supervise young children in the room.

Flush and semi-flush fixtures exist for ceilings that cannot give up the height. Choosing between them is mostly a clearance question.

  • Ceilings under 8 feetChoose flush. A semi-flush will feel low.
  • Ceilings 8 to 10 feetSemi-flush works and adds some depth to the room.
  • Minimum clearanceAt least 7 feet from the floor to the lowest point of the fixture.
  • PlacementCentre it in the room, or centre it over the walkway in a hallway rather than on the room's midpoint.
  • Hallways and landingsOne fixture roughly every 8 to 10 feet keeps the light even.
