Fontana is a hanging lantern built for a covered entrance, a porch ceiling or a pergola beam, where a pendant reads as architecture rather than as an afterthought. Iron frames the rippled water glass and the whole thing is finished black, with a warm aged bronze highlight catching the raised edges, so it holds its line against a painted soffit or bare timber.

The IP65 rating is the part that matters outdoors. It seals the housing against dust and against water jets from any direction, which means it tolerates driving rain on an open porch rather than only a sheltered one. A single E26 medium base bulb goes inside and is not supplied, so tone and brightness are set by whatever is fitted, and whether the fixture dims depends entirely on the bulb chosen.

Three sizes are made and they differ in scale rather than by a small adjustment. The smallest measures 6.3 inches across and 13.2 inches tall, the middle 9.1 by 19.1 inches, and the largest 11 by 22.4 inches, which is a front door statement rather than a path light. All three hardwire to a ceiling box and should be installed by an electrician, and the largest stands 22.4 inches tall before any drop is added, so check the soffit height before choosing a size. The fixture carries CE and UL certification.

No. It takes one standard E26 medium base bulb, the same base as most US table lamps. Whether the fixture dims depends entirely on the bulb you fit and on your switch.
Yes. IP65 means the housing is sealed against dust and against water jets from any direction, so an open porch, a pergola beam or an exposed entry all work. It hardwires to a ceiling box.
The body alone is 13.2 inches tall on the smallest size, 19.1 on the middle and 22.4 on the largest, before the chain and canopy add drop. Measure the soffit before choosing a size.

Hung outdoors, the constraint is headroom and weather rather than the wall. Get the clearance right and the rating right.

  • Under a porch or soffitLeave at least 7 feet between the ground and the lowest point of the fixture.
  • Over an outdoor tableBottom of the shade 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop, as indoors.
  • In a covered entryCentre it on the door rather than on the ceiling, so it reads as part of the doorway.
  • ExposureA covered porch needs a damp rating. Anything taking direct rain or blown spray needs a wet rating.
  • WindOn an open porch, a caged or enclosed shade moves less than an open one.
