Pinto has no dial to speak of. The numerals and the backing plate are gone, leaving an abstract metal armature and a pair of gold tone needle hands that appear to float against whatever color the wall behind them happens to be. The wall becomes the face, which is why the piece reads as sculpture first and as a clock second.

A silent sweep quartz movement drives the hands. There is no second hand tick, and that matters more here than it would on a conventional clock: an open frame gives a ticking mechanism nothing to muffle it, so the silent sweep is doing acoustic work as well as visual. In a home office or a quiet living room the clock stays inaudible from any distance.

Two sizes are offered. The smaller measures 13 by 23.6 inches and suits a chimney breast, a hallway or the wall above a console. The larger runs 16.1 by 28 inches and is intended to anchor a wall on its own, without other art competing beside it. Both hang flat and throw a light shadow of their own frame onto the wall, which shifts through the day as the room light moves. Dust the frame with a soft dry cloth and keep abrasive cleaners away from the gold tone finish.

Your wall becomes the dial

There is no backing plate and no numeral set, so the gold tone hands appear to float against whatever color the wall behind them happens to be. The piece takes its color from the room.

Silent, and it has to be

About this piece

Shipping, returns and everything else is on our FAQ page, or email support@elbrune.com.

No. There is no backing plate and no numeral set, only the metal armature and two gold tone needle hands.
The 13 by 23.6 inch suits a chimney breast, a hallway or a console wall. The 16.1 by 28 inch is meant to anchor a wall on its own, with nothing else beside it.
Yes, from the hand positions rather than from markers. It reads at a glance for the hour and closely enough for the minutes, which is the trade for having no dial.

From Our Customers

What Elbrune shoppers have to say.

Exactly What the Kitchen Needed

Was a little unsure about the size at first, but it ended up looking perfect over our table. The warm light makes the kitchen feel so much cozier. Really happy with it.

Glad I Went for It

I hadn’t ordered from Elbrune before so I was a little nervous. Everything arrived well packed though and the light looks even nicer in person :)

Looks So Nice Over the Table

The color is a little warmer in person than I expected, but I actually like it better that way. Looks great over our dining table.
