A strawberry, in glazed ceramic, at a size you would actually notice. The form is sculptural rather than literal: a rounded body tapering toward a point, textured across the surface, finished in a high gloss glaze that catches light the way fruit skin does. Red and pink are both offered and they read very differently, the red graphic and bold, the pink softer and closer to a pastel.

Three sizes cover three different jobs. The small, 6.7 inches high and 6.3 inches across, is a shelf, windowsill or bedside object. The medium at 7.9 by 8.3 inches suits a short arrangement, tulips or ranunculus cut low. The large at 8.9 by 9.8 inches opens wide enough at the mouth to take a full market bunch with the stems left long. Two sizes grouped in one color looks more deliberate than a matched pair.

It works filled with water and stems, and it works empty as a standalone piece on a sideboard, a dining table or a hall console. The glaze is textured rather than slick, so it holds in the hand without feeling glassy. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth. It is not dishwasher safe, and abrasive cleaners will dull the gloss that makes the surface work.
