Cool reflective metal above, warm matte timber below. The Vieste is that pairing and very little else: a polished chrome dome shade on a tapered wood body in a walnut finish, and the contrast is what keeps it from reading as either retro pastiche or plain minimalism.

The dome throws light downward in a defined pool, and its polished interior adds a second bounce, so what lands on a surface is brighter than a modest 9.8 inch shade suggests. An integrated LED runs at a warm 3000K, which means there is no bulb to source and no socket visible anywhere on the piece. The module is sealed rather than replaceable, so it is built as a fixed unit.

At 13.8 inches tall it fits a bedside table, a living room console or a desk without crowding the surface. Pair it with a table 22 to 26 inches high so the bottom of the shade lands around 36 to 40 inches from the floor, just below a seated eye line, and leave about 14 inches of clear top around the base. It arrives plug-in on a 59 inch cord, so no electrician is needed at any point; measure to the nearest outlet first. Set it on a stable level surface away from steady moisture and heat. Wood grain varies from one body to the next, so no two are figured identically even within a single production run.
