Corso takes the Bauhaus habit of reducing a lamp to two shapes and then stops there: a tilted dome shade held in a bent chrome tripod. The shade sits off axis, so the opening throws light forward and upward rather than straight down. A nightstand or a low cabinet gets lit without a hard bright pool on the surface, and the glow reaches the wall behind it. At roughly nine inches in either direction the lamp reads as an object first and a light second, which is why it suits a shelf or a desk corner where a shaded lamp would look bulky.

The shade is a glass look finish over a rounded body, glossy enough to pick up some of the light it gives off, and it is made in white, green, orange and orange red. The polished chrome legs are the only structural part: three bent rods that lift the shade clear of the table and let the cord run out behind. Inside, a single E12 (candelabra base) fitting takes up to 15 watts, and the lamp will respond to an external plug in dimmer if you want to pull the level down later in the evening.

Corso runs from a standard 120V, 60Hz outlet on a 59 inch cord with an inline push button switch, so no wiring and no wall switch are involved. Set it down, fit the bulb, done. The bulb is not supplied, which leaves the color temperature to you. Rated for indoor use only.

Aimed forward, not straight down

An inline push button on the cord, so no wiring is involved.

About nine inches either way

It suits a shelf or a console where a shaded lamp is bulky.

Yes, with an external dimmer. There is no dimming built into the lamp, so a plug in dimmer or a dimmable outlet switch is what gives you the range. It takes one E12 candelabra bulb up to 15 watts.
It is a glass look finish over a rounded body, glossy enough to pick up some of the light it gives off. The specification does not confirm solid glass, so we describe it as a glass look shade rather than claim more than we know.
9.1 inches across and 9.8 inches tall, so it reads as an object first and a light second. That fits a shelf, a desk corner or a console where a shaded lamp would look bulky. Indoor use only.

A table lamp is sized to the surface it stands on and to the person sitting beside it.

  • Beside a bedThe bottom of the shade should sit roughly level with your shoulder when you are sitting up in bed.
  • Beside a reading chairBottom of the shade at eye level when seated, usually around 42 inches from the floor.
  • On a console or sideboardTotal lamp height no more than about one and a half times the depth of the surface.
  • Picking a sizeThe shade should be a little wider than the base and no wider than the table it stands on.

Starting points, not rules. Check them against the measurements listed for this piece and against the surface it will stand on.

From Our Customers

What Elbrune shoppers have to say.

Exactly What the Kitchen Needed

Was a little unsure about the size at first, but it ended up looking perfect over our table. The warm light makes the kitchen feel so much cozier. Really happy with it.

Took a Little Longer, but I Love It

Shipping took a few days longer than expected, but everything arrived safely. The lamp looks really nice on our nightstand and customer service was helpful when I asked for an update.

Glad I Went for It

I hadn’t ordered from Elbrune before so I was a little nervous. Everything arrived well packed though and the light looks even nicer in person :)

Looks So Nice Over the Table

The color is a little warmer in person than I expected, but I actually like it better that way. Looks great over our dining table.

Made Our Patio Look So Much Better

We put these by the back door and I’m really happy with them. They give off plenty of light and made the patio feel a lot nicer at night.

Took a While, but Worth It

Delivery took around 10 days, but other than that no complaints. The lamp looks great in our living room and feels really solid.

Light you can move

A lamp is the one light you can rethink without calling anybody.

Layered, not overhead

The lamps in a room are what make it feel warm after dark.

Ready the moment it lands

Nothing to wire. Unbox it, set it down and switch it on.
