An open cage holds a column of crystal glass on Cortina, and the gap between the two is the whole idea. At distance you read a slim lantern; up close you see the cut glass through the bars. Each element measures only 3.9 inches across and 11.8 inches tall, narrow enough to hang where a conventional shade would feel bulky.

That slim profile is also why the fixture comes in one and three light versions. A single pendant suits a breakfast bar or the turn of a stairwell; three on a shared 11.8 inch canopy span a kitchen island without the canopy itself becoming an object overhead. The cut faces throw small points of light onto the ceiling while the open base drops a usable pool onto the counter, so you get sparkle and working light at once rather than one instead of the other.

Both versions hang from a rigid rod, 39.4 inches on the single and 66.9 inches on the three light, which fixes the drop rather than leaving a cord to sway above a work surface. Sockets are E26 medium base and rated to 40 watts each. Bulbs are supplied separately, and a clear or filament lamp flatters the cage far more than a frosted one. The single weighs 4.4 pounds and the three light 11.0, and both hardwire to a ceiling junction box on 120V, 60Hz US mains using the installation kit in the carton.

Each column is 3.9 inches across and 11.8 inches tall. From across the room you read a slim lantern; up close you see the cut glass through the cage bars. That width is what lets it hang where a conventional shade would feel bulky.

One per shade, E26 medium base, rated to 40 watts per socket, and bulbs are not included. The single light version takes one and the three light version takes three.
4.4 pounds for the single light version and 11.0 pounds for the three light, which shares one 11.8 inch canopy. Both hardwire to a ceiling box and arrive with an installation kit.
The specification states crystal glass for the shade and names no material for the cage, so we do not claim one. What we can say is that the cage is open rather than solid, which is what keeps the cut glass visible through it.

A chandelier is sized to the room as much as to the table. Get the diameter right first, then the height.

  • Over a dining tableBottom of the fixture 30 to 34 inches above the tabletop.
  • In a room with no tableKeep at least 7 feet of floor clearance at the lowest point.
  • In a two storey entryHang it so the bottom sits level with the middle of the window from outside, never below 7 feet.
  • Picking a sizeAdd the room's length and width in feet. That number in inches is a good diameter.
  • Over a table specificallyDiameter about half the table width, and at least 12 inches narrower than the table on every side.
