The stem is the whole idea: a squiggle that climbs in three curves from base to shade, so the lamp draws a line in the air instead of standing as a column. Above it sits a wide pleated shade, and the pairing is deliberately mismatched, a loose modern gesture wearing a formal traditional hat. Black with beige, black with green and black with white are the three combinations.

At 23.6 inches tall with a 16.9 inch shade, this is a full sized table lamp rather than a small accent piece, and that shade diameter is worth holding a tape measure against a nightstand before ordering.
