Six finish combinations is a lot of choice for a ceiling light, and it is the reason to look at Aubine. Each pairs a shade color with a metal trim: beige with gold or with chrome, green with gold or with chrome, white with gold or with chrome. The fixture can therefore be matched to the door handles, taps or cabinet hardware already in the room, which is the compromise most ceiling lights force.

Construction is glass and metal, 5.1 inches deep, offered at 12.6 or 15.7 inches across. The smaller diameter belongs in a bedroom or a guest room; the larger one has the presence to sit over a dining table or at the center of a living room. Light comes from an integrated LED drawing 24 to 38 watts according to size, so there is no bulb to source, no socket size to match and nothing to change out when a lamp would otherwise fail.

Art deco is a hard reference to land in a flush mount, because the period's own lighting was mostly pendant and mostly ornate. Aubine keeps the geometry and the two tone metalwork and leaves the rest behind, which is why it reads as decorative without pinning the room to a decade. It hardwires to a ceiling junction box on 120V, 60Hz US mains and needs assembling before it goes up, so allow for an electrician unless that job is familiar. Rated for dry indoor locations, and a soft dry cloth is the only maintenance.

It is not sold as an adjustable or switchable fixture, and there is no color temperature option to choose at checkout. The specification publishes a Kelvin range of 3000K, 4500K and 6000K, so treat the output as fixed rather than selectable.
Six pairings: beige, green or white glass, each with gold or chrome trim. Both diameters are offered in all six, which is why the range runs to twelve variants.
No. The LED is integrated, drawing 24 to 38 watts depending on the size, so there is no socket to match and nothing to change out. It hardwires to a ceiling box and is rated for dry indoor locations.

Flush and semi-flush fixtures exist for ceilings that cannot give up the height. Choosing between them is mostly a clearance question.

  • Ceilings under 8 feetChoose flush. A semi-flush will feel low.
  • Ceilings 8 to 10 feetSemi-flush works and adds some depth to the room.
  • Minimum clearanceAt least 7 feet from the floor to the lowest point of the fixture.
  • PlacementCentre it in the room, or centre it over the walkway in a hallway rather than on the room's midpoint.
