A low ceiling rules out anything that hangs, which is where a flush mount earns its place. The Beckley sits 2.36 inches off the plaster and still carries K9 crystal around an acrylic diffuser, so the fixture throws refracted light across the ceiling instead of sitting flat and anonymous above the room.

Two shapes cover two different jobs. The round version draws 27 watts and suits a landing, a hallway or a smaller bedroom. The square version draws 32 watts over the same 10.24 inch footprint and holds its own above an island or in an entry. Both use an integrated LED board rather than a replaceable lamp, so there is no socket to match and no bulb to buy, and both come in black or gold on a metal frame.

At 10.24 inches across and 3.3 pounds, it mounts to a standard ceiling box without extra bracing. The fixture is hardwired, and the mounting hardware kit and installation manual ship in the carton. Because the LED is integrated, plan on replacing the fixture rather than the light source at the end of its life. Have the electrical connection made by a qualified electrician where local code requires it.
