A continuous band of iron coiled into a spiral and lit from inside the coil. Ridley is about 12.6 inch across and 4.7 inch deep, and it was drawn for the parts of a house that usually get the dullest fixture: corridors, landings, the top of a stair, the stretch of ceiling between two rooms where nobody ever spends money.

The integrated LED draws 18W and puts out 1440 lumens of warm white, which is more than enough for a hallway that previously had one bulb behind a plain shade. The spiral does the visual work. Light escapes between the turns as well as from the face, so the ceiling around the fixture picks up a pattern instead of a flat circle.

Black or white, both in painted iron. The white version settles into a plain ceiling and leaves only the shape behind; the black version is the one to pick where a room already carries dark hardware or metal joinery. It is hardwired to a ceiling box at 120V, 60Hz, semi flush so it clears a low ceiling, CE and UL certified, rated for dry locations, and assembly is required. It suits hallways, kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms equally, which is rare for a fixture with this much character.

A shape for the dullest ceiling in the house

Corridors, landings and the top of a stair usually get whatever fixture was cheapest. Ridley puts a coiled iron ribbon there instead, and its integrated LED puts out 1440 lumens of warm white, which is far more than the single bulb behind a plain shade it replaces.

Light through the turns

Only 4.7 inches deep

Semi flush, so a low ceiling still clears it.

About 12.6 inches across and 4.7 inches deep. It mounts semi flush, so it clears a low ceiling that a pendant would not.
No. The LED is integrated and fixed at warm white. There is no tone switching and the fixture does not dim.
18W and 1440 lumens of warm white, which is enough for a hallway, a landing or a small dining room on its own.

Flush and semi-flush fixtures exist for ceilings that cannot give up the height. Choosing between them is mostly a clearance question.

  • Ceilings under 8 feetChoose flush. A semi-flush will feel low.
  • Ceilings 8 to 10 feetSemi-flush works and adds some depth to the room.
  • Minimum clearanceAt least 7 feet from the floor to the lowest point of the fixture.
  • PlacementCentre it in the room, or centre it over the walkway in a hallway rather than on the room's midpoint.
  • Hallways and landingsOne fixture roughly every 8 to 10 feet keeps the light even.

Starting points, not rules. Check them against the measurements listed for this piece and against your own ceiling height before you drill.

From Our Customers

What Elbrune shoppers have to say.

Exactly What the Kitchen Needed

Was a little unsure about the size at first, but it ended up looking perfect over our table. The warm light makes the kitchen feel so much cozier. Really happy with it.

Took a Little Longer, but I Love It

Shipping took a few days longer than expected, but everything arrived safely. The lamp looks really nice on our nightstand and customer service was helpful when I asked for an update.

Glad I Went for It

I hadn’t ordered from Elbrune before so I was a little nervous. Everything arrived well packed though and the light looks even nicer in person :)

Looks So Nice Over the Table

The color is a little warmer in person than I expected, but I actually like it better that way. Looks great over our dining table.

Made Our Patio Look So Much Better

We put these by the back door and I’m really happy with them. They give off plenty of light and made the patio feel a lot nicer at night.

Took a While, but Worth It

Delivery took around 10 days, but other than that no complaints. The lamp looks great in our living room and feels really solid.

Light sets the room

Ceiling light is the first thing a room reads and the last thing most people change.

Hung at the right height

Every drop, rod and cord length is listed, so it lands where you want it.

Warm, not clinical

Chosen for the quality of the light as much as the shape of the fixture.
